The History and Significance of Capitoline Hill in Rome
#CapitolineHill, #Campidoglio, #Rome
What an epic trip – a life-time journey to the eternal city of Italy – Rome. The Capitoline Hill here in Rome is one of my favorite places in Italy. The Piazza del Campidoglio including the Cordonata was designed by Michelangelo and is the highlight of this popular place.
Capitoline Hill, located in Rome, just northeast of the Roman Forum, ranks as one of the most famous and spectacular archeological sites in the world. It was once one of the seven hills of Rome, and was long considered sacred by Romans themselves. The hill has stunning panoramic views of central Rome, as well as the Vatican City and St Peter’s Basilica, making it a great place to enjoy some amazing vistas with your loved ones or by yourself.
